Replace your burned out incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs). According to the EPA, CFL's use 2/3 less energy and lasts 10 times as long as an incandescent bulb. I know some complain they're not as bright - but you definitely get used to it!

Use cloth, reusable bags not PLASTIC when shopping.
