Baby Sign Language
I have been fluent in ASL since I was an infant. Both my parents are Deaf and I learned American Sign Language before I knew how to speak. I found that Sign Language played a big part on my early and continued English speaking and writing skills. I find it easier to spell a difficult word in Sign Language before writing (gives you a chance to visualize the word), it's nice to be able to communicate with your child before they can speak - our son is now 14 months old but has been using basic Sign Language since he was about 7-8 months old. It has reduced the amount of his frustration considerably. Instead of the 'pointing' phase, he can now at least tell us what he wants (eat, drink, hot, cold, more, finish, etc). This is something that your child can use for the rest of their lifetime (you too!).
Go Green Baby Co. is proud to offer the My Baby Can Talk & Signing Time Book, Flash Cards & DVD series.
